Residential multi-home

Phi Suea House, Thailand
Challenge
Phi Suea House made history in 2015 as Southeast Asia's first off-grid multi-building residential complex. Operating completely independent from the power grid, the complex harnesses solar energy through panels distributed across multiple rooftops, storing excess power in both batteries and hydrogen systems. The technical infrastructure integrates equipment from various vendors that must function seamlessly as a unified system. The energy management system needs to account for multiple variables, including weather forecasts and planned events with heightened energy consumption, while ensuring uninterrupted power supply and resident comfort. Over the past decade, the complex has continuously evolved, incorporating new technologies such as EV charging stations and additional pumping systems, while adapting to changing resident preferences and lifestyles. This dynamic environment demanded an equally adaptable energy management system that could swiftly respond to new requirements.
Solution
Enapter EMS Toolkit was selected for energy system management and monitoring. Thanks to its flexible architecture, comprehensive support for numerous interfaces, open-source software, and wireless communication capabilities, it enabled quick configuration, reconfiguration, and integration of new devices while adapting to changing requirements. Many integrations, for example for fuel cells, were available as Enapter Blueprints in the Enapter Marketplace, which reduced setup time, while the built-in support for Enapter hydrogen storage made the hydrogen storage and usage cycle operation simple and intuitive for users. Another major advantage of EMS Toolkit is its mobile application, which residents use to monitor key system parameters, analytics, and manually control individual components, including key energy consumers: water treatment pump stations and pool systems. Additionally, EMS Toolkit enabled the integration of critical parameter monitoring, such as basement flood monitoring with instant push notifications in the mobile application.
